Plain Bearings

Plain bearings are employed for sliding, rotating, oscillating and reciprocating action. These are efficient in performing the functions of wear plates, bearing strips, and slide bearings in sliding applications. In these applications, movement is always linear rather than rotating, and the sliding surfaces are typically flat but can also be cylindrical. Plain bearings are installed not only in the engine compartment, but also in the seats, pedals, brakes, pumps, and suspensions for the wheels.
